NEEDING SOME TREES?

A-Z Nursery Victoria, TX
SUMMER IS HERE. I am sure you recognize the heat! Suddenly, you remember how important it is to have a tree on the west side of the house. Is now the correct time to put one in???
YES. You can install a tree anytime of the year as long as it has been grown in a bucket. All the roots are intact.
Transplanting is another story. Transplanting needs to be done in cooler weather, because you are cutting the trees root system.
A-Z Nursery&Landscapes in Victoria, TX carrys a wide selection of trees from 5 gallon to 100 gallon.Contact us at 361-580-2946 or come by 13449 hwy 77 North. www.aznursery.com

Washing Machine Blues

We finished the laundry room and I was excited that I was going to be able to use my washing machine. It had been 5 long years going back and forth to the Laundromat. Every Sunday, listening to kids screaming and seeing their parents ignore them. UGH!
So, I washed three loads and then the last load did not empty the water. I noticed the washing machine had moved (I was washing a blanket). My first thought was a kinked hose. Nope, not a problem. Second thought was the pump. The washer is 15 years old. Would I buy a new pump or buy a new washer???
Then it struck me that the lid was really easy to open and close. Turns out that the safety switch which was under the lid had broken. That would keep it from emptying the water and going into the spin cycle.
Now, how to I take the machine apart? UNPLUG THE MACHINE!! The machine is a Kenmore. It had two screws at the base of the controller. Unscrew them. Under the controller are three clips. Two for the base (metal) and one for the electrical (plastic). Unclip them using a screw driver. The base slides forward and the part is accessible under the lid area. Unscrew and unclamp the piece. Put in the new part (found at an appliance store). WALA! Put everthing back together. Don't worry about the screws that rust through and fall into the base. That's what you get with old machines. IT WORKS! $25.00 and I am up and running again!

Spring is ALMOST here

Spring is ALMOST here. Time to freshen the garden with compost. We are growing a few of our own veggies and annuals this spring.
I just received a new load of concrete statuary.
The building is coming along. We have started drywalling and should be done soon. (I hope)!
